Motherless Daughters Community Group

For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.

my sisters cause of Death came back as toxic levels of her meds. Now my brother in law called and he received a letter from walgreens about a recall on Time Released Morphine of 30 mg or 60 mg capsules. Apparently my sister got a bad batch of pills that had twice as much mg in each pill (which would make them oversized but she didnt notice) anyway, we are shocked and devastated!!! Please pray for him and my niece and nephew.

If you know anyone who has been taking Morphine Time Release capsules since 2006 please inform them of this recall.

Wow! That is almost exactly like what happend to my mom only her meds were not morphine it was Digitek! What the hell is wrong with the FDA that these meds are getting past? I don't understand this. I would talk to a lawyer if I were your brother in law. We have also contacted a lawyer about my moms case. It is slow going and very nerve wrecking to deal with but if someone is held responsible for losing the ones we love them some how I will feel vindicated in knowing someone is being held responsible for her death. Tonight I posted a warning on my Fibromyalgia group site, a lot of people there are treated with morphine that comes in all manner of delivery. Oh, my, my heart goes out to you and I pray for strength for you and your family, may you all find comfort and the strength for each other that you will need.

Raquel- What happened to your sister is a tragedy that could have been easily avoided had the manufactuers not made such a lethal and sloppy mistake. I am so sorry, sweetie. This is a lot for you to handle...we are here for you. (((bigtighthug))) Thank you for the warning. I will let all of my loved ones and friends know and tell them to pass on the information. Raquel, I have been doing some checking and different areas of the country, walgreens get their pharmaceuticals from different areas. Also, what was the delivery method? Like a generic or something like oxycodone (sp?) It would be helpful to know the delivery system for those taking them. I do know people who have problems about their meds, that could be part of their problem. If you can think what your sister was using, let me know and these are the things your brother in- law or his representative will need to know.
