Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.
My schedule is tight this morning but I really needed to come on board to say this - and found your post, so similar to my thoughts.
I've read so many daughters having the impulse to call their Moms before realizing they're gone. Like yourself, I lived/was raised solely by my Mom, so once she was gone I'd only think about missing making phone calls to her from work (if and when I got a job). And like yourself, I've spent months recalling/regretting the arguments we'd have sometimes (two women in one house?) - and how I wish I could take back so much. I haven't experienced that "need to call" feeling - until the past 24 hours or so, which is why I came on this morning. I can't even describe it - just sudden thoughts of Mom and then a twinge of remembrance that she's not here.
You put it so well. Like being homesick permanently - in your own home. I guess it's the mother who's the heart of the home.
love,
Kirsten
