Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.
I can give you an example of what has made me believe this.
My mum died on the 12th Jan. From the 7th to the 9th, she was saying some really weird things throughout both the day and night. As my sister and I were by her side 24/7, she actually said some outrageous things that made us laugh - but some that really made us think.
My Mum had a falling out with her only sister in 1983 and they didnt speak to one another from then on. My grandparents died in 1981 and 1983 and then my aunty died in 1996.
Anyway, on the night of the 7th Jan, my mum was saying lots of things and in the early hours of the morning she said " They are coming for me. But I have told them to bugger off - I am not ready yet" I said" WHo is coming for you?" And she said "Shirley and Grandma" She was reaching out, but there was no way she was going to go there and then! The next night she was in so much pain. She was constantly yelling for her mum and her sister. We thought this was really bizzare.
After she passed away, about two weeks later, I am POSITIVE that I felt her touch me. Just a few days later I smelt her RIGHT NEXT TO ME!
If you would have said something to me like this 6 months ago, I would have thought you were NUTS! But I firmly believe there is an afterlife.
I read a great book called " Never say goodbye" by Patrick Mathews. If you are interested, it will really open your eyes to the afterlife.
Love to you
Sam

What we DO know, and what scientists have proven, is that our bodies are made up of energy. Energy does not die, it simply changes form. What happens from there we will never know, but I find it comforting. It may not be what we all hope for (Mom sitting on our shoulder for the remainder of our lives), but they do carry on... I see my Mom in my nephews which brings me great comfort, and then, as my bereavement therapist pointed out, in myself.
We are pieces of our mothers carrying on, Her genetics, and most importantly the lessons and beliefs she has taught us and we follow, which we have and/or will one day pass on to our own children. I have nearly driven myself crazy wondering if my Mom is really with me, and so instead of wondering if there is life after death, I focus on the fact that life goes on.
Afterlife or not, our mothers have left pieces of themselves all around us, and within us.
Whether or not we see / hear from a deceased loved one, their spirit lives on. Pray for them.
