I try to always tell mom I love her still everyday. I think it makes mefeel better. Even though she is gone, my love for her is still alive and my memories of her. I found her ID card, the only picture I have of her as a senior citizen, I look at her picture everyday and kiss it.

How sweet. My baby and I have a nightly ritual before going to bed. I ask her (she is only 11 months old now) Where's Granny? Then she looks right at her picture and smiles. Then I pick her up to the picture hanging on my wall and let her kiss the picture. We do this every night unless she goes to sleep before I take her in the room. I want her to know my mother even though she will never have memories of her own of her. ~Angela

They can hear us what you both do is lovely!!!!! Whenever I kiss my young sons i give them an extra one from Nana as when she was alive and phoned me she'd always remind me to give the boys a kiss and cuddle from her :-)

i do the same thing...i actually have a journal where i write to her and tell her about my feelings. (the same way i would of if i was talking directly to her) then when im done with an entry i read it out loud so she can hear it.

Donna, I think that's so sweet - and so easy to do to be able to "feel better".

I also continue to tell mom that I love her very much. Gives me some sense of the peace that I am looking for and wonder if I will ever really find. Sharon

16 month old Bumpers calls out to his Nana almost every day. I laminated an 8x10 photo of her that he gets to hold in his hands. (He kept breaking my frames and the glass was dangerous.) He Says "Nana" and points to her and again, "Nana" and points. Then he leans in and gives her a big kiss. Sometimes he just carries her picture around. I wish she could see his love for her. The funny thing is that he started this at 10 months old, one week after she died without any coaching from me. I'll never forget the day. My husband and I just looked at each other in shock when out of the blue, he crawled across the floor and opened his little photo album and pointed to her photo and said "Nana". I also still text my mother "I love you's" and "I miss you's" and "please come home." Sometimes I leave her voice messages. It is my hope that wherever she is, she still has access to her favorite thing...her phone. If my Dad ever shuts her phone off, I think I'll go crazy. It is still my fairy tale connection to her.
