For starters, stop skipping meals, and I'll work on doing the same. We can check in with each other on that one! Also a good tool is to keep a food diary, it helps to keep you accountable. No one is going to see it but you, unless you choose to show it. So, there is no reason to lie about what you put in your diary. Be honest with yoursel! You know the truth, so stick to it! My nutritionist taught me to change one meal at a time. So, work on making your breakfast a healthy one. It really is the most important meal of the day!! Work out several different meals to avoid boredom. There are recipes all over the internet to help with that. Maybe we could all challenge ourselves to come up with a healthy breakfast to share with everyone! If everyone in this group gets involved, we can make monumentous changes for everyone here!! So, we have two tasks to think of, keeping a food diary and coming up with a nutritious breakfast to share with everyone. By the way, nothing wrong with a bowl of cereal for breakfast, let's all see what we can do to make it a good one!
Another thing I'd like to point out is to worry about today. Don't think about tomorrow or next week. Take things one day at a time. While working on changing that one meal at a time, don't give in to the temptation to have what ever you want for the rest of the day. You still need to be aware of what you are eating and you need to try to make it healthy. Like I said, I know what to do, it's just hard for me to follow through on all this. I need help to make me accountable for what I'm eating as well I am going to start using a food diary as well. I've done it before when asked to by someone, but found out I was lying in it. If I keep it for just me, I will be held more accountable by myself as I know what I'm really eating and I need to be honest with myself. I hope I haven't sounded like I'm preaching as that is not my intent. I'm talking to myself here as much as to everyone else. I have, somehow, managed to lose some of my weight, but I also know I'm not doing it the right way. Although, I do weight less now than I have in quite a long time! The thing I need to concentrate on now is to keep the momentum going and still eat the way I know I should be eating.
I know you think about food all the time and unfortunately, you will for now. I do too. I'm always thinking of what I'm going to have for my next meal. It's going to take you thinking about food to help you learn to think about the right foods.
Ok, off my soap box now! 0:) So, let's review, #1. Keep a food diary. #2 I challenge everyone that reads this to come up with a healthy breakfast to share with everyone!! Let's get creative here and do what this group is all about, supporting each other!!! I know we can do this!
Best of luck to us all!
love & hugs,
Char
