Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind, Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine. Come here and remember,, the good times and the bad.

Back in my high school days, there was a part of dating that every guy wanted. It was called parkin' or watching the submarine races if you had a lake near by. Don't know what they call it now, but it was a time at the end of the date where the guy would find a secluded spot for smooching. For those of you too young to know the term, smooching was huggin' and kissin'. You might have seen it in the movie, "Grease". Secluded spots were hard to find and guys scouted to find them. They might be a new housing addition where the lights hadn't been turned on yet or an old country road just outside of town. Anyplace where there wasn't any traffic late at night. Well, I found a beautiful spot. I drove a Jeep convertable in those days and the top was down most of the year except in winter or when it rained. It was a great date car. I went to a small country school and pretty much knew all the country roads. To get to this spot, you had to take the road passed the school's ag farm and about a half mile down the road was a rock train tressle. The gravel road ended there. On the other side was a dirt road that ran along side a corn field. On one special night, I drove out to the corn field. It was fall and the farmer had harvested the corn. As we came under the tressle, we saw the broken corn stalks under a beautiful full, yellow moon that shone like the sun. I've never seen anything prettier than that field except, maybe the girl that was with me.
Did any of you guys have a special place to park? And you gals, what did you think about parkin'?

I remember going parking in a field along a creek one night. It started to rain and I got stuck. Had to borrow my brother's car to take the young lady home and then my brother had to tow my car out next day. After that I was a lot more careful where I went parking.
