Ladies going through IVF this year supporting each other through the process!
Ladies,
I got blood test results back and my thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPO) level was almost 200! I do have Hashimotos disease, but typically, my TPO is below 30, which is normal. My RE (whom I won't be seeing anymore) had told me to get the blood work and follow up with an endocrinologist because she doesn't feel comfortable handling hashimotos. I gave my WTF face on the phone when she told me, lol. Like wI thought your specialty was freakin endocrinology?! Bad news is, there are ZERO available endocrinology appointments in the entire San Diego county until end of September, early October. 2nd WTF moment. I just want to scream. The TPO being elevated is what has made me feel sick for the past several weeks. Now that I know its abnormal, I feel a lot of anxiety. A study showed that high TPO with normal other hormones (T3, T4) would NOT necessarily cause IVF failure, so it might be zero impact. Waiting now to hear back from new RE and a closer, local endo that may have an opening as soon as Sept 20. Seems so far away!!!
Anyone of you ever have high TPO? Reading Dr. Google seems to show there is no real treatable fix. They won't medicaate me unless my other thyroid hormones are abnormal.
Hanging in there. Hope you are all doing better than me! I plan to drink wine tonight...just a warning!
