My FET was supposed to be next Friday (8/11), however, like always, my body is responding too slowly to the meds and it has been delayed for a week. So I'm set for 8/17-ish depending on how my lining is doing. So frustrating but I know it's what is best, just ugh.
When you went to the RE, did they only check your lining? Or blood work too? What were you measuring? I was on estrogen and progesterone to help get me ready.
This whole process is SO outside of our control. It can be exhausting and so frustrating. How are you feeling about it all? Frustrated obviously. But do you feel you are getting ready? Physically and mentally? Exciting things are right around the corner!
No, they did bloodwork as well. I don't know what any of the numbers are yet. My fertility clinic uses the 'follow my health' app so I just got an email from them through that, but haven't actually talked to the nurse yet, waiting for a call back. I am on lupron and delestrogen, will start the progesterone just before the transfer. They switched up my protocol this time in the hopes that I wouldn't have anymore complications.
Emotionally, I know I am not ready. I am in a depression rut, have been for the last few months. It's more from the grieving than this process, but all the complications and challenges I've had since starting back up again in January has definitely not helped. I was working out with a trainer at the gym twice a week and then running on my own, but was told yesterday that all I can do is walk, had to convince my doctor to even let me walk on the treadmill on an incline. So that doesn't help either.
Rather than trying to stay positive, which doesn't work, I just ignore the negative thoughts and shoot for neutral. It's also easier to be excited for everyone else!
I think shooting for neutral is a good plan. Stay in the zone and keep in moving. Do you see a therapist or anyone apart from the support group you were attending? Having an unbiased sounding board may be a good idea too.
I hate that you can't run anymore. That was so good for me mentally. But you have to let your body do its thing. I am down to just walking right now post FET. But I wasn't doing much before hand so its not a loss.
Keep me posted as things move forward!
I have waaay too many cousins, another birth announcement on Facebook, ugh. I am not seeing a therapist, I did in the beginning, shortly after Max died. But I had a really hard time finding one that was a good fit, went thru like 3 people and finally gave up. Because I am a counselor, I know what I need to do, it's just hard. And I probably could use some medication but can't take anything, or I won't take anything I should say, regardless of how safe they say it is, I barely even take tylenol during rounds or if I get pregnant.
I just found out that my step mother's niece is pregnant with twins. Obnoxious details aside, she is the poster child for unfit to raise a human life, forget two!!! It is painful sometimes... what we go through to be great parents... and to then turn around and see that. This stuff isn't easy to say the least. Nor is the emotional baggage that goes along with it. Inch by inch......
Well that sucks, although my cousin will probably be a great mom, she's a great person...but it all just sucks lol, she just got married last November and is due in February so you can do the math.
Fsugrad, I am sending you lots of patient vibes! Maybe the slow and steady growth can do wonders for the egg quality and lining? It may not be a curse, but a blessing? Fingers crossed for you. Also, are you On social media??? Lol! I quit my FAcebook for a while because it causes me to be down. And I don't quite like many humans right now. It's my stim meds talking...ugh.
Thank you hope114! Yes, slow and steady is my mantra, just doing an FET so no egg quality issues, just trying to get my lining nice and thick! I'm set for my transfer for 8/18. And yes I'm on Facebook and Instagram (Julie Forman in Oldsmar, Fl), altho I don't really use Instagram. Not on Facebook that often either. I agree, it can be depressing and I don't like many other humans on a good day lol so don't feel bad.
Yes! Everything is still looking good. Will get my final bloodwork Thursday and as long as everything is still looking good, I will be set for Friday. And yes, just one embryo, I can't risk putting 2 because of risk of preeclampsia, it would be too dangerous if they both took. And no, didn't do any testing so don't know the gender. Honestly thinking about not finding out the gender if I get pregnant until I have the baby, but I'm not sure my husband would be able to wait.
