I joined the group today because I have a question about using calcium ionophore. My husband and I went through one IVF cycle and it failed. My husband had testicular cancer when he was young and so his sperm count and motility are low. But we just found out that there seems to be another issue with the sperm that is causing it to not attach to the egg. Our doctor has recommened using his frozen sperm (from before chemo) and also using calcium ionophore to treat some of the embryos. However, I cannot find any information about calcium ionophore online, well information that I actually understand...most of it is scholarly articles that go over my head....but I was told that calcium ionophore is a controversial approach.
Has anyone heard about this or gone through it? Any idea what the controversy is? Are there any risks?
