SO i'm hopefully about 2 weeks out from starting my first cycle.. some days i can type those 3 letters, but i guess right now, isn't one of those times. I guess i'm wondering if there's anything i should be prepared for? I know the feelings of being bloated, and wearing comfy clothes, and being nice to myself..blah blah.. but anything else? I know someone mentioned be prepared for weight gain too.
Is it normal to basically just "expect" it to result in BFN? I'm sure everyone reading this knows someone or is that someone who has gone thru 1 or more cycles with no positive result, so why should i assume it will work for me - especially on the first try? I guess you all know that feeling where your stuck in between wanting to be thinking positive but also being relistic..and i guess also the feelings of wanting to speed up the calendar but also push it off a little longer just in case there's one extra thing we can do increase the chances of success...
Anyway, not trying to be a downer, but i am very excited for reading all the positive stories lately! Keep it up!
Mine worked on the first try! It totally can happen! And yes prepare for weight gain, unexpected emotions and everything else you listed. But remember it is all temporary... and very worth it!
Be as healthy as you can. Lots of water, protein and I also do organic fruit juice blends. Prepare you body for the amazing process it is about to go through. And vent! We have all been there! Don't keep the frustration in... use us as a sounding board!!!
I felt pretty good with both the retrieval and the frozen transfer. Tiny bit of bloating and pelvic pressure 1-2 days before the retrieval. I was actually expecting more side effects, but was pleasantly surprised. If you ask my husband, he would say I was a little emotional during both, which I'm sure is accurate :)
I definitely feel like we all go into these things assuming that it won't work, because that's been our journey and what we've come to expect! It helps to protect our hearts. But it makes it so much sweeter to get the BFP, even if it does take several attempts!
I felt pretty positive throughout the process, because for me it was good to feel like we were moving forward and actually doing something, instead of the months where it seemed we were stuck in an endless loop of nothing happening and no success.
Keep us updated on your steps along the way! Prayers going up for you right now!
Mrs- i totally appreciate your positivity, it's what i need b/c i'm clearly not feeling it for myself, Just like Sunshine said - it's easier to protect our hearts this way.
Sunshine, i hear what your saying about finally, actively doing something.
For me personally, I believe that I have to do my part, and the rest is up to G-d. I just have to remember thats what I believe, and this is me doing my part.
i read 2 quotes this week that resonated with me. 1 was "the amount of anxiety you have will not change the outcome" and the 2nd was "what was, was. What is, is. What will be, will be." I'm just trying to remind myself of these 3 things often. Huh. It helped me to gather them and have them altogether in on place. I'm going to write it in my notebook that i'm taking with me to the Dr's to write notes and schedules and stuff.
i feel more positive on my transfer this time its daunting at first cause you don't know what to expect I felt normal up to the third week after the transfer I'm hoping to go further next time and do a bit more chilling where we go is a lot hills so I have chosen an apartment in spain without any hills to see if that makes a difference and it wont be beach weather this time round so hopefully we can sit by the pool and just chill for a few days after good luck on your transfer all the medical teams are lovely where ever you go so you will be ok Xx
