married over 30 years Community Group
For everyone who was married over 30 years and is now going through separation/divorce.
I am new to this forum and am not sure how this works. I have also been married for 30 years when my husband told me he did not love me "in that way" any more. He first denied there was someone else but went straight to her 3 days after he left me. I am so confused and hurt and have no idea how to get through this. He said he has been unhappy for a long time buy I never saw it. I had no idea he was and he has no interest in counseling, says its too late and that it is too late to work on our marriage also. I feel so sad and cannot seem to quit crying.

I am going through the same thing as you are. My husband, of 30 years said the same thing to me, that he doesn't love me in "that way" anymore. It was so devastating to me that I felt my heart drop to the floor. I am so beside myself I feel like my life is over. I'm broken hearted. I am so sorry to hear that. I know now that the only way of knowing the extreme and deep hurt this causes can only be known by one who is going through it. I hope you are getting through this. After 30 years of marriage and kids and illness I do not know how to turn my love off like a switch even thought it seems like it is what he has done. I was completely blindsided. It was so nice to hear from you. I feel so alone and it would be nice to have someone to be able to share with.
