To ask for advice about your marriage, the good, the bad, the sexy.

I love my husband and still in love with him, he’s everything to me, but unfortunately, our communications has turned more into arguments because he refuses to deal with topics that need addressing. I have no motivation to keep us together, because I see no hope for us, he just refuses to work on us and I can’t save our marriage by myself. Would it be wrong if I just left?

You are completely right, you can't save your marriage by yourself. Whether or not to leave is completely up to you, but there is no "wrong" to it. You are not wrong to want happiness. I understand how you feel - like you are giving your all and he is not giving any or just doesn't even care.. That can be so frustrating and heart-breaking. If he is willing, try counseling, but don't expect that to work miracles. Even then, he will probably sit there looking at you like you are crazy and wondering why you think there is anything wrong with your marriage!! At the very least, find support with your friends. IMy advice would be if there are chikdren inviolved, keep trying your hardest. If not, measure the good against the bad and let that be your guide. You are not alone!! I think people would be so much. better off if we talked about these things instead of posting how wonderful our lives are on Facebook.

Real communication is so hard to begin. But once begun it can change everything. The defensive nature needs to be resolved first or it’s pointless. Work on that to stop arguments too. As a guy I believe we lose sight of appreciating our SOs. And as humans we lose sight of our happiness. It has to come from within. And to start that we need to get our heads out of the sand. The question is, can you, or something, snap him awake?
