Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and my boyfriend has been in basic for 4 weeks now. I've found it difficult to not worry about him. We've been together for almost a year, and have been friends for about 4 years now. I've been writing to him at least every other day so I can send him as much as possible. He will graduate August 17th! His mother and I have been planning our trip to his graduation and it feels like the days are dragging by. Every letter I get from him, makes me happy and I can't help but read it over and over for hours! I'm hoping to get any advice! Thank you!
As long as you keep writing that’s all that really matters. It can feel like forever until graduation some days, and some days aren’t so bad. But it’s awesome to hear you’re in touch with his mother. You’ll get your news mostly from her and it’s just a really sweet shoulder to lean on in times like this. My Marine’s mother was so supportive and welcoming when my love first left.
Time will fly by, it’ll be August before you know it and then you’ll get your much deserved time with your Marine. Keep writing and stay strong. Missing him makes the reuniting and the bond just that much stronger. Long distance is a hell of a challenge, be strong for your Marine..he’s counting on you .
