Marine Girlfriends Community Group
As Marine girlfriends, we know how hard it can be to face boot camp, training, and deployments. We face many lonely nights, and we know how to be strong on the outside when we are crying on the inside. We have unconditional pride for our men in uniform, and we are always faithful. Semper Fi! This group is for us to find support from others facing the same challenges....

Congratulations on making it to a half year lol It's not easy being long distance. I've been with my Marine for a little over 2 years and it's been a lot of long distance and short weeks of leave that we get to spend together so i totally get the feeling girl.
It's going to be okay. As long as you keep sending him messages or phone calls reminding him that youre thinking of him. Or communicating how your day went and ask about his..i'm sure things will continue to blossom. I think the biggest thing for me that i had to remind myself of constantly was that HE IS NOT IGNORING ME, lol He just has an obligation to his country, his job in the service and i have to learn to be patient. I know he's missing me just as much as i'm missing him, maybe even more because while we're here at home with family and friends and comfortable surroundings, they are alone..trying to rely on other service members that they really dont know and having to adjust to life away from home.
Stay strong girl, he will come home and you'll have your time. Just remind your Marine how proud you are of them, honestly inquire about their day and tell him how you feel.
Some days are hard and some aren't so bad but every day is worth it for them.
I'm here if you ever need to vent. :)
I am in the exact same boat. I've been with my marine for 2 years next month and it has been such a turn of events to look back on. I joined this group because I don't know anyone that is in the same boat as me, but it seems like for him no matter where he looks he has someone to talk to or get advice from since he lives on base. Also, you're so right about the constantly reminding yourself "he is not ignoring me". I have to on the daily and he still has to remind me how busy he is. It's just so hard to comprehend sometimes what their daily life is like.
It’s hard to not feel like you’re a burden to them since they are so busy but it’s healthy to express to them how you feel. After that however it’s wise to wipe those tears away and remain strong for him. I had a hard time getting to that place and I made a lot of mistakes but we’ve been making it through this far. So I wish you all the best of luck and message me if you EVER need someone to talk to. I don’t have all the answers but we are going through the same things and I can relate . My Marine told me that “we” (the wives, the girlfriends, the significant others) have the hardest job in the Marine Corps. That is standing by your Marine through all the hell the military is gonna throw your way. It’s all worth it in the end, we can do this!
Wishing you well ladies, OORAH!
