New Military Girlfriend

Hi- I am a senior in high school. My boyfriend of 2 years graduated last June. He recently has chosen to enlist into the Military. He is swearing in this upcoming Wednesday.


We have never spent more than 4 days apart. I am truly struggling with the thought of him leaving for boot camp. I don't know his leave date yet but I am absolutely terrified. 


Is there anyone who has gone what I am/about to go through? Can anyone tell me how to prepare? Can anyone make me feel okay with this?

hi! I know exactly how you feel and what you're going through...me and my boyfriend honestly have not spent more than 2 days apart because we only lived 5 minutes away from each other so we were constantly together...tomorrow will make it one week since he left for boot camp..I'm not gonna lie, it is extremely hard in the beginning, but what makes me feel better is keeping busy with school and work.. keep busy so your mind won't wander as much. Over time, it gets a little more bearable

You guys are so sweet for responding. I'm having a really hard time finding people in my area who are experiencing what I am about to go through.
We have some friends who just graduated high school & he went into the Air Force.. but the day he enlisted they went and got married.

I'm 17 and he's 18. Getting married before he leaves for boot camp isn't really an option for me.

Hey i’m going through the same thing. I’m a senior and my boyfriend swore in november 20th, i’ve been dating him for two years as well and never go more than a week without seeing him, i’m always with him. He’s leaving for bootcamp in July and i’m having a hard time already. If you ever need to talk i’m here
