im confused

my boyfriend just left for bootcamp. well i guess hes not actually my boyfriend becuase he felt bad for leaving and feels like hes holding me back so he broke up with me a week before he left but we spend the entire week together doing everything we'd normally do if we were together. i went to meps to watch him swear in and he kissed me before he left. I still plan on writing him and being with him and going to family day and graduation. i really hope that while hes there he realizes that hes not holding me back and wants to get back together, we've been together for 2 years and i can't just let go. I've known him since preschool I knew i wanted to marry him then and still feel the same way today. I'm not sure what to do.

Im sorry to hear that’s the way the situation went before him leaving to boot camp. It’s definitely not easy in boot camp and leaving home and everything they love. Maybe that’s his way of dealing? Just a thought. But if you have that strong connection I’m sure once he’s in and past those few weeks you’ll get a letter. If you gave him your address I’m sure you’ll get a letter. Maybe it’s a good idea not to bring up the relationship unless he does because they are going through a lot over there but I’m sure you’ll figure things out. I’ve heard that same reasoning, “ I don’t want to hold you back”
I’ve been with my boyfriend for a little over a year and a half and before he went in and even a few months back he told me the same thing again. Just have to reassure them that where they are is where you want to be. If that’s how you truly feel. It’s goijg to be rough and unbearable at times trust me but try to stay strong sister. Love finds a way.
