Mike, I think it's okay to start a new topic. My husband hasn't changed his diet much since his surgery last August. The only other cancer he's had is sebaceous carcinoma, so he also has Muir-Torre syndrome. He still eats what he wants but only two meals a day.
I don't think he wants to worry about it any more.
I'm curious what other people have done with their diets.
I've been a semi-vegetarian most of my adult life, since college, though occasionally (maybe 3-4 times a month) I eat fish. I just won't eat meat. I eat lots of veggies and beans and brown rice and tofu. I love the stuff, but I know I'm weird. I also love Greek yogurt and have one almost every day. So, basically, I eat what I love. It's just different than what many other people eat. I don't try to deprive myself. I have coffee (every day) and red wine (on weekends) and chocolate (occasionally). What does your husband eat? My primary doctor recently said something to me that made sense. I was wondering if something I was doing was bad for me, and he said, "You have enough to worry about. You don't need more guilt." I think he's right. A healthy diet is good if it empowers us, but I think feeling good about ourselves is more important, so I think your husband make be on to something when he says he doesn't want to worry about it.
