I know exactly how you feel. I have been lying repeatedly to my fiancé since the beginning of our relationship. It's this bad cycle that I don't know how to break. I hate being this person, but I don't know how to stop. I don't know if I'm afraid of the repercussions, but I am losing the only man who has ever truly loved me.

This is one thing I have tried to identify, what is the 'trigger', since being confronted by my partner I have made an effort to identify what situation I feel a lie needs to be told in. I believe it is related to self worth, you feel you need to look good and tell people what they want to hear. However this is the slippery road, even for small things it is easy to derail yourself by telling a silly lie (on reflection).

I think I feel self pressure, to have someone view you in a certain light. Someone who you love but always fear that you come short of the mark or that you feel life is easier if you make out something has occurred that is fiction.

It is easier that my partner knows, however I find you have to be patient, as there is anger to be absorbed. I've not lied since writing my first blog and have moved to seek professional help too. It does help to write things down too, in the events when you feel tempted to lie and why.
