I have the exact same problem sadly. I don't understand why I lie to the most important person in my life without hesitation. I haven't lied until today but before it was two weeks progress. What I would do is stop and actually think before I said what I said , another Thing I did was right after I realized I lied I admitted right after that I lied. Their are times where he catches me in the lie before I even have time to react and that's something I'm working on.

I'm so glad someone has got back to me I didn't think I would get any advise, it's horrible I have been good since I put this post up we have had our ups and downs as he don't trust me but we are OK I regret everything I have done and it's not a nice feeling when I'm doing it I love him to pieces and I know this isn't going to be the last time coz it won't be I think I got a long way to go before its sorted I think

this technique has started working for me...
1)tell yourself that you can lie all you want BUT your allowed to catch yourself from lying once a day.

since new years day(i made a resolution to stop lying). and the above has worked for me.
i can honestly say that i now catch myself before lying.

its really hard but start small. just tell yourself your gonna catch and stop one lie for today.

of course the hardest part now is owning up to all the lies you have already said.

I know I need to admit to all the lies I have made and that's the hardest part I think! It's horrible feeling! I'm so glad people are getting back to me as I didn't think anyone would comment back its not nice feeling on your own! I'm afraid

I have the same problem as well i been married almost 5 years and i have lied to my wife alot and i want to fix my self before i lose her cause we having problems. But if i had any advice to say is keep your head up and think about everything before u say anything.

So i am currently going thought the same problem. I feel the need to make the un-true narratives about what i am doing, or why i am doing something. The lies I tell small and the truth is of little consequence. I know deep down that the truth might get me a disappointing look but would otherwise be completely fine. I have been doing some research and it seems to me that a important part of stopping is to identify why I feel the need to lie in the first place. For me it is that i cant stand to look bad in front of her.

I totally agree with you, I have been good the last couple of weeks I haven't lied, but things still don't seem to be getting any better yet, we had an argument over something I done before again and that's what happens we will argue and then bring up what happened before and then tells me he can't believe anything I say, so I don't know if I'm waiting my time
