I am a liar, and it's going to cost me my marriage

I've never done something like this, but I feel like I've exhausted all my other resources. I'm a liar. I lie about just about everything to everyone including my wife. 


I'm terrible with money and have wracked up some large debts and I have lied to my wife about them every single time. Then they go to collections and they call my wife. This last time she told me she was done. She doesn't care anymore because it hurts her too much. She admitted to still loving me, but other than being a good dad to our daughter, she doesn't know why.


I need help. I love her so much and I can't afford to lose her. I know I'm starting from rock bottom, but I can't be like this anymore and I don't know ow what to do. I've tried therapy and it did nothing.

I have struggled with the same issues, lying around finances because I was too proud to admit I was failing. It forced me to make some very drastic decisions about how I handled things. I always wanted to give my family everything but that has come at a great price to the person I wanted closest to me.

Be honest and open about everything. Make sure your wife has full accessibility to all that you have - bank records, bills, etc. It is hard at first because it means going deeper into an area where as men we feel hits too close to home. We are providers (hunter gatherers) for our family. But, peel back the layers and show you want to be open about everything.

Remember, the work is on us to show we want to be honest and truthful and not them to help keep us that way. Be strong and know you have support here when things get hard.

I am in the same boat, I am a liar and I lie to my wife about almost everything, Grant it I am 100 percent faitful so I am the lucky one. I want to stop. But its hard I don't wanna be a failure in her eyes either. I lie mostly about money and having and not having a job at times. Being able to say I and we are liars is a big step! I am gonna try harder then every to be honest remember we gotta start small its an addiction I feel or its a safety net of sorts.
