Lupus Warriors Community Group

This group is for people who have lupus or may know someone who has Lupus. I am 26 yrs old and I have SLE. I want to have a place where we can vent, exchange ideas, and give support to each other. I want this group to be home for everyone. We do not judge, but try to bring support to all. If you are newly diagnosed or had it for a long period of time your welcomed.

Need advise. Started 3 days ago with one sore/cut area of the gums and now almost all my mouth (gums) are swollen and hurt. also, Yesterday I got an couple of blisters in my tongue (by the way, It is sore at the root when I move it) and a couple of small blisters on the sides of the walls on my mouth. could it be due to the Lupus? I never had these type of sympthoms before.

yes that is very very common with lupus. i get that right before or during a flare

I know I think it is one thing I can say about a flareup also sores in my nose. But Remember even when you are not diagnosed as an epileptic is could be that you are having grand petite epilepsie biting your mouth on the inside as well as your tongue. Ask your family on bedmate if you are restless at night or signs of blood on your clothes or pillow. Better get tested than keep on wondering.

yes,years ago.probably the first 10 years of my lupus.
don't get them now..(26 yrs in)this might not even be
due to your lupus.I know we are all different,but when I had
mine,they were more like "raw skin"...had to drink miracle
mouthwash,just so I could eat or drink.
just for an accurate treatment you might want this checked further.
It was so long ago,I actually went to a dentist,because of
the ulceration on the roof of my mouth...he didn't have any idea what it was.yep,sores in nose,no fun either!

meant to add.. the tongue thing "could be" the deletion
of your B vitamins...was with me..and when the sides of your mouth,crack or split.are we having fun yet?

I am a Dental Hygienist that has lupus. My gums flair up as well , make sure you are going for regular cleanings at the dentist. Ask the Hygienist if you are brushing correctly. If you brush correctly with a soft toothbrush ( I like oral b) dip toothbrush in listerine and brush with it. This is not in place of toothpaste this is in addition and really helps kill bacteria causing the inflammation.
As far as the other lesion are concerned I have used coconut oil (organic virgin) to sooth the
lesions in my nose and mouth. If you have lesions in the mouth do not eat spicy
foods till they heal.

By way sores in the corners of mouth are related Vitamin B
as well as protein. vitamin B is harder for people with hypo thyroid to absorb.
