I don't know if anyone else thinks about this but the other day I was talking to my SIL and she told me that she won't tell anyone she is pregnant until she is 4 1/2 months along. So that got me thinking if I am lucky enough to be pregnant again, when is the right time to tell everyone? I know I would not tell anyone until I could hear the baby's heartbeat and see the baby in an ultrasound. I have heard people say once you make it through the first trimester, that you should be good to tell people. But being on this site, I know that is not true. I think that I would want to have my family and friends to pray for me so I wouldn't want to wait too long.

I've always told friends and famly right away for prayer and support. However, since I have found DS I will only share here until it is so obvious that I have to say something. I'm usually puking 24/7 so it might be long at all ;-) I've lost 2 babies at 16 weeks so the 20 week mark is my "magic number". That's when the morning sickness stopped with my son too.

After two losses, I chose not to tell anyone (except my parents and DH) about my current pregnancy until I was 16 weeks along. When I lost the first two, I was very depressed and didn't want to talk about it or my feelings or anything like that with family and friends. Plus, I hated having to tell my first experience several times to different people. It was like reliving it over and over. So, even the 2nd pregnancy, not many people knew about. When Ii lost that baby, the grieving process seemed more peaceful for me because I didn't have to tell as many people. That's why, this time around, I chose to wait until 16 weeks.

I have been thinking about the same thing. I have lost 3 babies but the recent was the longest about 3 months in and with my husband so it seemed harder. I go back and forth about this idea. If I become pregnant I want to enjoy it from minute one and share my joy about it. I feel like I should celebrate it but I am would be scared of telling everyone and having to face them inquiring after the fact. I mean we should be able to be as excited as we were when we found out we were pregnant for the first time we deserve it especially after all we have been though. I cant really say ether way yet. I guess go with you gut and when the time comes you'll know. I am sure it is different for everyone.

I would agree with that. I lost my first daughter Ava shortly after birth. When I was pregnant I literally popped out, when people asked. I had a mc at 18 weeks and I just told everyone. I am thinking I will wait until the next one is born around :D!

I have felt alittle scared about telling people myself. I have had so many miscarriages and I just didnt know if I should wait till I got further along. But I have told a few. I guess no matter how I try not to get my hopes up I am excited. I know how it feels to be let down but I want to be able to love every minute of pregnancy at the same time.
