I am a classic 1957 model, built for comfort, not speed, I am trying to lose a few pounds and get a bit healthier these days. Happily married to the love of my life for over 20 years, we live in OKC, Oklahoma, with our 2 little parakeets and 3 little dogs, originally from Los Angeles, California.
A big ol girlie girl, I love all things feminine, except that is when it comes to romance, then I am all about the wonderful dual spirit of the butch woman. Enjoy makeup, pretty clothes, all kinds of jewelry, and decorating our home. I am retired due to health issues and I am hoping to get healthy enough to volunteer in some type of animal rescue or care for abused animals. Two of of our three dogs have been rescued from being breeders, one was in a puppy mill for her whole life of 8 years and until this year she was not even able to walk upright, nor had ever walked on grass. Oops sorry I almost climbed on my soapbox about animal rights.
I love God and consider myself a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings, but am open to all types of positive spirituality.
I'm single. I consider myself a "blue jean" lesbian and am attracted to other "blue jean" lesbians. I can cut and chop the firewood, and then cook dinner. I brush my hair and put on makeup and nice clothes to go to work, but don't bother with all that if it's not a work day.
I work at the local high school with severely emotionally disturbed students, and am about halfway through college to be a biology teacher. Probably special ed, but we'll see.
I like to take pictures, and have won several awards on an amateur level for my photographs. I've not had much time for that lately because work, school, and being a mom takes a lot of my time. I do hope to find more time for that soon though.
I, too, hope to make good friends here. Feel free to "friend" me or to send a personal message.
Reintroducing myself. :)
I'm 46, born in New York City, now live in South Central Pennsylvania; spent most of my childhood moving around (New York, New Mexico, various areas in California, and now Pennsylvania). Earlier this year, my Wyfe and I celebrated our Tenth Anniversary. This year has been particularly rough on her with her workgig, which definitely has its impact on our Home/Nest life as well. My own workgig is going as okay as it can and I am grateful for what income this gig can bring in for our Nest and Family.
I'm also Wiccan (Solitary, Eclectic, HedgeWitch, KitchenWitch, ElementalWitch with leanings towards the Ancient Celts); I'm something of an artist, nature photographer, writer, at times philosopher, poet, songwriter, crafter. I initiated myself unto my Path back in Imbolc (February 2) 1994.
As for my Lesbian-ness, I am more or less a "Soft Butch," though I generally refer to myself as a Boi. Well, it's slowly but surely starting to become Ol' Boi as my age increases. :) No lipstick, dresses or heels (I did that in my second "straight" marriage) for this Boi; I prefer instead my old carhart pants with the handy pockets for tools. I'm also a sentimental, ol' romantic fool sometimes. :)
Our AnimalKin Family are all rescues of one kind or another, except the Fishes.
Tess is an older Sheltie, mostly white, born both deaf and blind, and is the sister to my Bingo man (may he rest in peace). Rosie, mostly a dark-colored coat, is also an older Sheltie with no special medical needs that we know of (shew!). My Coco is a Lab/Pit mix who just turned two this last September; she's mostly dark with lighter fades that sometimes make her look like she's part seal, especially when she gives me that ears folded back, big brown-eyed look of "please, can I have that?" :) My Coco is my joy and my daily Light, and I am grateful for Divinity sharing these Blessings with me.
On to the Kitties. There's Ayla, our "million dollar cat" (nickname compliments of my Wyfe from a time when Ayla needed surgery), who I sometimes refer to as our "psycho kitty." Also, there's Leo and George, the retired Ranch Cat.
As for the birds, there is Marty and Denny, two parakeets that my Mother was not able to bring with her when she was relocated to Florida. And there is our newest newcomer/rescue, Milo, who is a Sun Conure.
And that's about it for now. :)
Brightest Blessings, All, 'An it harm none, Blessed Be
Toni~AyniaNightFish....
Life was not always so good for me for a very long time, i was in an unhappy marriage, i fell into a terrible mixed up, toxic, long distance realtionship with a woman that left me rattled and without self esteem but awakened the feelings i had stuffed deep down within me, i lost my sister, my best freind to breast cancer...but i am up on my feet again... and moving forward with my life. i had a storefront print shop, which i closed this past July to kind of tone back the stress in my life and am doing some Graphic Design work from my home office as well as working on some new ventures, getting back to my painting, and i'm loving it.
i've been on DS now for probaly 6+ years, i have made some wonderful friends here, i have read so many wise and wonderful words of wisdom from all you wonderful ladies that have helped me through a lot. i only hope that i can offer the same in return whenever i can.
i hope everyone is having a fantastic night!
I am 39, live in Green Bay, WI. I am BI-however enjoy the company of my female friends a bit more, we just seem to know exactly what we want without having to sometimes draw a map for the male persuasion..lol
I am a very easy going, love to be outdoors and swim. I can't remember the last time I wore a pair of shoes during the summer except at night. It seems a shame to not run your feet through fresh grass.
I love the cultural arts, museums, ballet, symphony, off broadway plays, but on the flip side. I am down with a backyard BBQ, boombox going, playing jarts. Going to a local hangout to play darts. I think overall I am pretty well rounded and will try anything at least once. Life is to short to be stuck in a rut.
So smile, it makes our eyes glisten. :)
