Congratulations on welcoming your child soon! That is truly a blessing.
I understand the feeling your going through. The good thing is is that you are aware and stated your challenge in life, lying. The second step is to write down your goals and create a plan. Read books on shame, and learning to love yourself (look up Brene Brown), write down your thoughts and pain and be honest in your writing daily. Set a goal to not lie to anyone or be more aware of your thoughts and what you say. When you feel the need to lie, pause, think about the truth, and then say the truth. When it comes to the feeling of hesitation of saying the truth, learn to let that feeling go and say "fuck it!" Saying the truth will make you feel so much better. Learn to not care about what the reaction of that person may be, or the consequences. Our lies will kill us in the end and make us lose everything and everyone we love. The truth will set you free and will gain more trust and respect.
Hang in there. This isn't an easy road at all. But you are on the path to being an honest man. You can do it, nothing is impossible with God. The willpower and strength is within you, it just needs to be channeled with positive actions and positive mentality. You are not alone!
