Hello everyone.
I just wanted to say that I'm new to this. Yesterday my girlfriend finally gave me an ultimatum with the truth. I told her the truth about a lot of things. I'm a compulsive liar and it sucks. I get anxiety about telling the truth. I sometimes just get in to deep into a lie and I can't come out. Now she is asking me a question that I am telling the truth about, and she refuses to believe it. I have no one to blame but myself and it sucks.
I would just like some thoughts please and help.
Thanks

I'm in a similar boat. My wife, who I love more than anything in the world left me in April and so much of the reason centered around trust. I have done so little to accept this flaw that it's utterly amazing that it took her this long to file for divorce. I doubt that there is anything I can do to right all of this but I learned one thing today. I looked to blame her in one form or another but it wasn't until she made one simple statement today during a conversation, that she didn't wanna feel this way. Meaning she didn't want to feel that she couldn't trust me. I spent so long believing that it was all in her head. Past lies and continued behaviors likely destroyed my marriage to arguably the greatest person I've ever met. I have no idea why I act this way. I'm so tired of it. I too need help. I so want to stop.

I'm in a similar situation too, man. I've lied to a lot of people for a long time about a lot of things. It cost me the girl of my dreams, and now I know that even if I start telling her the truth, she's got no way to know it's the actual truth and it could just be another lie. I don't know what the future holds for you or me, but I've learned that my words don't hold much value anymore. So I've decided to go out and do things instead, let my actions speak for themselves. i started seeing a therapist, started attending support groups, eating better, drinking less, exercising more, etc. You've gotta start living a healthy life so you can be a healthy person. Maybe if you're lucky and your girlfriend wants to work through this with you, she'll see that, and you two can figure out what's best for you guys. But regardless, you should focus on making yourself a better person, not for her, but for you; you ow that to yourself. Get a plan together for how you're gonna start being better, being more honest, and good things will follow. Hang in there buddy, I know it's not easy. But you're gonna be okay, just gotta used to telling the truth, and the anxiety will slowly fade away, I promise.

I hear ya. We are working it out, we'll see what happens. I'm having faith, I just hope she has the same faith I do. Love her and I'm willing to do anything to make it happen. I'm making some changes with a healthy life style too. I do believe in be healthy live healthy.
