Hello to all, Hapy to be a part of the Group. Just a little about my background I am a recovering Liar of over 20 years. I have been clean for 9 of the last 10 months. I told a lie on Feb 14th but did something I have never done before I reectified it immediately. Over the last 10 months I have learned that lying is all about the need for control it was not until I realized that did I begin to start turning my life and my behavoirs around. I have another support group that I goto every Thursday night and that has helped me a ton. Dont Ever give up It is a daily struggle but you can do it. I look forward to many many months with this group and meeting and making new friends and the Journey that I will embark on now.

thanks for sharing ScottRandJr. How did you find a meetup support group in your region? Not sure how to go about looking for one... It’s interesting that you say 9 out of 10 months instead of counting down again. Is there a reason you do that? And for that one month out of the 10, were you dishonest more than once? Just wanted to get a sense of what strategies you’ve picked up over the years in trying to improve your lying problem.

Flubie: The first thing i did is googled support groups in my area. The one that i attend in church based but if you look hard enough you can find support groups for just about anything. The two biggest things I have done are one find a counselor that works in CBT (cog behavioral Therapy) and two found someone to hold me accountable

ScottRandJr. Thanks man really appreciate it. I’m gonna look for groups in my area too. I’m planning on working with a cbt/dbt specialist as well and ask her if she knows any groups. Will keep you posted.

Welcome to the group and thanks for your words it's always encouraging for me to hear others story. I haven't found a group but I use my therapist as such for the time being. Stay connected and wish you well in your daily walk
