Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
I lied to my wife for months to cover up an affair and I lied to the woman I was having an affair with about not trying to reconcile with my wife. I lied to protect myself and hurt both people because of it. I thought that I could tell some lies and they wouldn't matter in the end because I would either end up reconciling with my wife or leave my wife and then I could stop telling lies.
All I can tell you is that the only way I've found to deal the lies I've told is to face up to them and take responsibility. It's the hardest thing I've ever done because it involves a lot of soul searching. That has meant seeing and accepting things in myself and my behaviours that have been tough to acknowledge. I struggle with that everyday, but I know that struggle is worth it. It helps me be the man I want to be and not the man I'd become.
I don't pretend to have all the answers. I'm still finding them out for myself, but if having someone to talk to that's been though it helps then I'm here.
