I really caught myself with this pattern for the past few months and the guilt and insecurity has really just hit me...I hope you find yourself as I try to as well and stay strong

Thank you for your kind words,i hope everything work out for you the way you wish!i'm trying as hard as i can and i've only let a couple lies slip.it's difficult because you have to admit them and then face the music...but now that it's come to that i found it to be more liberating than anything

I am going to do this method as well starting right now! I've had my fill of always lying to everyone! I hope you are both doing better

I read somewhere that you have to quit like it's a bad habbit.like smoking.one day at the time and if you slip you start all over again.and don't set impossible goals.start with a 3-day goal and keep counting the days.it's hard and now i'm back at day one.i hope everyone gets better...but i really think that we need a professional's help to keep the progress going and really change ourselves

You have the strength to admit that you are wrong! Don't give up and keep fighting!! Lying is difficult to stop just like smoking, but the lord will never give you more than you can bear! You can do this, just DONT STOP FIGHTING! Eventually, you will be able to be truthful! Find out who you want to be and give your everything to trying to be that person... For me: I want to be a good man, the type of man that my wife has in her mind, honest, loyal, and good of heart... Currently I am none of these... I am going to the church to help strengthen my resolve and become the man I want to be! Maybe retry things that have not worked for you... And refrain from "triggers" that make you want to lie... Instead just say something along the lines of "I'd rather not talk about that, or I am not sure let me research it and I'll give you an answer" if you are stuck where you want to lie... Try and dodge out of the question until you can back up what you say with fact... Imagine that everything you say is going to be thought of as a lie... And find proof to justify everything that you say...

You are so very right my friend.from what i see you must have already made huge progress!how have you been doing?ps.honestly i dont think we are very bad persons,since we realised the fault in our ways.we will find our way

And find proof to justify everything that you say...", well the problem with me is that i used to stand by my lie and back it up with facts,so that got me in a position where my bf just wants short quick answers,otherwise if i prolong my answer he just sees it as an excuse.so,what im trying now is to answer each question with a yes or no and avoid carry on with a justification because when i come to think of it it seems deliberate and apologising.and i was doing that all the time.thats why i concluded to stop because maybe that was a faulty pattern.i hope im clear enough.ill give you an example.if you asked me "did you go to the grocer's",id reply like this:"i went to buy some things to make dinner etc etc".isnt that answer some kind of excuse?like im trying to justify sth wrong,instead of stating "yes,i went"and thats it.

Finally(sorry if i bored you),another thing that i found helpful is to speak with actions.our s.o's and family are tired of so much talking and promises.we have to take actions and show them our good intentions

I've found that writing down in a journal the lie you told helps break the habit slowly... Because then you can also write out the truth underneath that lie.
Later you and your bf can look through the journal together, and work at getting better.

Baby steps.
Having the support of a partner is a wonderful benefit, I know it's helped me this may few days.
