This mess that I/we have created by lying to our families or others is a hard thing to fix. I have been working on it for 30+ years, and my wife has been by my side all of that time. It is a really long row to hoe (bad memories from thinning beats when I was a kid) figuring out what is going on, and then working to change my habits, thinking, personality, and everything else involved with being a liar, then also doing what is necessary to repair my relationship with my wife. She has had to deal with feeling scared, devastated, unloved, and in tears way more than anyone should ever have had to endure, ever. And at the same time, she has spent countless hours talking and counseling with me, figuring out the many aspects of selfishness, egotism, fear, weakness, and many other issues that seem to go into being a liar. I really want to stick with this, to keep all the lying in the past, and distance us from the bad memories and all the other bad stuff mentioned above, so I can continue to rebuild my relationship with this amazing women.
