Welcome to the group - my friend you are not alone in this matter we all have our demons to deal with especially the one of lying. I too have been lying since I was a child whether to make myself look better or get people to like me. It has caused me to lose touch with family, lost jobs and at the moment has almost ended my marriage - we are all here to support each other to fight and win against this addiction.

thank you for being the only one to actually comment on here, I'm glad I can relate to somebody on here, ik I'm still young but I'm still upset as to why it took me so long to even realize it was a problem, also do you know of anymore websites that help with lying because I wanna get on more websites to help invade this one doesn't work out for me

I don't know of any other sites that are similar to this, however I have found at least thus far this site has been able to help in the sense that its been an out-let to those without prejudice. That being said, it doesn't matter how young you are, you took the biggest step of admitting that you have a problem and want to fix it. It took me a lot longer and a lot of loss to get to the point of admitting to this problem and really trying to fix it.

Lying is something that is so hard to fight..sometimes it seems impossible. But if you keep the faith that you can do it, just take it one day at a time. Feel free if you want to send a private message to talk more. Stay strong!

Hey Parker! I’m Halo and I 100% know what you’re going through. I’m 17 going on 18 and found myself in a very similar situation a week earlier. I suggest you explain to her that you are a habitual liar, and that your lying isn’t something you can control and it’s not something you intentionally do, but you’re currently doing your best to get the help you need. Tell her that you’re sorry for the lies you told her previously, admit to any lies you’ve currently got going on and tell her that you’re doing your best to change. Thank you for all of y'alls comments, they've really been helping me working this through, I have another question, does journaling help at all with this cus I used to journal in general but I quit doing it after like a month and I just wanted to know if any of you have tried it and if it helps

I have found that journaling has been a huge help (to me at least). It’s been a way for me to have another outlet and think about what it was I did that day-if I said a lie that day I ask myself why? And who did it affect? It helps to actually see what I’ve done..and take the realization that I lied again. It will happen-lying doesn’t stop over night, you slip..but admitting to them is very important.
I agree with the others that if you apologize to your girlfriend and show her that you are making an effort to change it will change. Stay Strong!
