You remind me of myself when I was single and using men to sustain my financial needs and other selfish ways.
Tankee, if you really want your ex-wife back because you truly want to make it work and live your life with this person only - then, cutting these women off (yes it sucks hurting people's feelings) is worth it for the one you love. Telling her everything or just being honest IS the requirement for any relationship to be solid and feel right.
These women are pissed because they invested money and time into you so they can get your love. Be straight up with them and say, "Look, you're a kind and giving person. However, I was being dishonest with you in order to have stability in my life at some point. I don't want to keep leading you on anymore because I have found someone and I am not going to keep wasting your time. I apologize for putting you through this but you continue being the great woman you are. The RIGHT man won't treat you the way I did. Goodbye."
No one is perfect. You are on the right path, but these little decisions and situations right here are the ones that build character and integrity. Especially when it's messy and involves many people like this. I've been there. You got this though and continue working on yourself to be a better and honest man for yourself first, and then your wife.
