Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
I read someone's response to another post encouraging that person to keep a liar journal. As a writer, that may help...to write it on paper rather than letting it come out of your mouth. I have done this before and it did seem to help, but I didn't stick with it. I think I should start again, and encourage you to as well.
Maybe as soon as you wake up, let the first person you talk to be yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself something true about yourself as your first sentence of the day.
Then, in addition to your lie journal, keep a truth journal as well. Two separate journals. It might seem to be discouraging at first because the lie journal will likely fill up more quickly, but as the truth journal begins to fill, the lie journal will hopefully not fill as quickly, and that can be a source if encouragement for you.
I'm here for you. I think we shoukd all hold each other accountable for taking steps to improve. I challenge you to do the mirror test at least to start. Let me know how it goes. ... And if you can do that, it can be your first entry into your truth journal.
My journey will began tonight by joining this group. I can write that in my truth journal...day 1...finally sought support for my lying problem. Joined a support group online and told the truth...that I am a patholigical liar and I need help.
Thanks for listening...or in this case, reading.
