Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
You are doing the first step by admitting you are a liar. That takes a lot of courage there a lone and by your post, it seems like you want to change, which is also fantastic.
I don’t have or know of much experience, but I quit cold turkey and I told my mom (whom I trust with everything) that I have lied in the past. I would also try to find the root of your problem, mine is from protecting others and rooted in anxiety and social anxiety from the time I was probably 12.. I also have the inability to say no, which is something I am also working on. She accepted it and still loves me the same. Now I know, not everyone has a loving and trusting relationship with a family member but I suggest you find someone who you can challenge yourself to be 100% honest with. I am about 10 days in and have not stated a lie except a small white one to the doctor last week. Much better than what was going on before. As you go on, you may find the same luck, or maybe you need to try something else, but I wish you the best of luck and if you would like to discuss anything, you may reach out to me anytime.
