hello everyone. this is new member here.female. 28 years old. i need help.i am going to share my story with you all.please advice what you think i can do to find the way out.this is my first time posting in any support group,so forgive my mistakes.

this is my current story.

2014-my last year in college.i did not know what will i do with mylife.and depression started.

2015-broke up with my long term bf.still did'nt take life seriously.wasted whole year.
2016-lying started.my ex-collegemates all started getting jobs,or settling down in personal life.i slowly broke contact with all of them and went to my room,lying to everyone that i am studying for further post graduation.but i wasted this year doing nothing.

2017-no longer depressed.but full blown liar.all day i hide in my room,lying to world that i am studying to clear exams.when confronted by my parents as to why i failed my exam,if i was studying for 2.5 years.i came clean that i used to lie.and did nothing.they asked me to give 1 more year to exams.i lied to all my collegemates that i cleared exam

2018-back to lying.wasted this year till now. its again exam time now.and ihave lied to my parents that i am clearing my practise tests with good score and i will get clear my final exam.i have told detailed lies till now.but now its again exam time and truth is i know nothing.and i dont know what to do now.should i come clean with my parents and society or should i givemy best for this exam and passit by hook or crook.

First off, take a deep breath panic never helped anyone. You need to do the right thing what that is, only you know for sure. everyone in this group struggles at some point as to whether or not we should lie, sometimes we do and sometimes we dont but we can never succeed if we dont take step one. Stop, pause think about everything clearly and the right decision will come to you.

Ask yourself also this very deep question. Have you been avoiding these exams because you don't want to settle pn that particular vocation for which you had otherwise prepared?is this what everyone else expects of you? If that's the case, you owe it to yourself to train for a career of your own choosing and not what has been chosen for you. That will only make you more miserable.

ScottRandJr is right. Take a deep breath. Life is a journey, and this just happens to be a side road you need to travel on your way back to the main road. Seek counseling and guidance, and find someone to hold you accountable both for telling the truth and setting attainable goals for yourself.

Thank you for support.i realized I have been panicking.i should take step 1 -stop lying.
I want to break the habit of lying,I have been into.

K.sharma I commend you for stepping out on faith to join the group. I think first you have ask yourself why you lie. Then you will know what to fight to stop lying. Scott was right come down and breath. What works for me to stop lying is to take a pause when I get ready to speak. Thinking before you speak will help you make better choices. We are here for you so stay connected to the group daily.
