Hello. 


i just recently found this group after searching for Liars Anonymous. 


I have lied for as long as I can remember. I've lied to my wife, my family and friends. I've nearly ruined my marriage on a couple of occasions. I love my wife more than anything else and I hate myself for constantly lying to her. I was doing well for a little while but have dropped back into old habits. 


What are some things I can do to stop this for good?

Hello. Welcome. I just joined recently too and wanting to be a better wife to my husband and stop lying about my spending habits. It first happened several years ago and I thought I could stop spending over what I can afford... well old habits were hard to break and on top of that the lies to cover it got too much. I was sacred and embarrassed to tell him. It was a huge debt(s) and I lost sleep for years because of the amount of debt I acquired. And the lies kept coming.

I recently came clean because I was caught in a lie and well things between us aren’t the same. I’m working to be better with finances and Not covering up the bills with more lies.

What I found to help, was to share little truths along the way to the big ones. The lying gave me anxiety so it was messing with my everyday functioning.

I found talking about it with people in similar situations helpful....

Hoping you can find your small step to recovery. I took mine and yes it was scary and lots of work to go but at least I started.

I would be very grateful to hear anyone’s life lesson story of the approach they are taking to stop the lying. I have tried so many times but the cycle keeps repeating itself and my wife has had enough,

I have a similar problem and think it would be beneficial to chat. I don't think I have a solution, but confronting it sounds like a good idea. Interested?
