Everybody is welcome, irregardless as to sexual orientation, etcetra. But than at the last administration meeting an administrator decides to suggest have a gay couple share at a conference given by a couple. A BIG JOKE because legitimate GLBT members have nothing too offer hetrosexual members who, in both cases are sufferring from codependancy in this case. "I'm bisexual. I just don't have a Partner" I chirped out of disgust over the homophobia he felt was acceptable among the administrators, etc of the group. He didn,t get it. So I emphatically stated that I was bisexual and my eyes locked with his. The room was extremely silent suddenly. Maybe because of shock, but I did not know how to articulate my disgust appropriately. Well that act of homophobia...a legal term up here in Québec.....violated on many levels the 12 traditions that they claimedthirty minutes earlier to be knowledgeable enough about. It was an act of illegal discrimination according to Article 10 of the Charter of Human Rights and Liberties of the Person of Québec. All of which is clearly denounced in some of their literature dealing with the topic of shame. And nobody else denounced it. Nor was there any real support from others in the administrational department that deals with all the groups of Québec. And for the cherry on the sundae, the group is located only about 45 minutes from the GAY capital of the world: Montréal, Québec! I'm going now to 12 step groups in other fraternities that are GLBT oriented to just relax and continue with my recovery. I'm not affected by the slur, apart from it coming from an administrator. He only attempted to shame me because of what I am as a person without making anybody aware of any reprochable behavior that needed changing and that was seemingly related to being of a sexual orientation other than hetrosexual. The administrator's conduct therefore is what needs changing, but only he can decide to do that. As for me I'm innocent of such a verbal slur and have no reason to be ashemed. At the very least, it is much better to be bisexual or GLBT, in general, than to be a pedophile. The administrator DOES need to go jump into a lake. Up here snow is on the ground so a swim ought to cool down his desire to emit hate speach. NO?!

People are jerks. I wish people could get over themselves. In school when I would say I was pan sexual they would look at me like I was crazy, then like I was gross. No one at my work knows about my sexuality.
