Still hanging on to see the new year in. My part of the county is "redneck country" guns are going. You would think a war. With the shortage of ammo I have to wonder, it all started around nine. I don't dare set on my deck. That is the way the new year rings in here in the south. Nothing as sophisticated as a ball dropping.
I believe down by the river by the Presidential Library (Clinton) they do have a countdown. A symphony and fireworks over the river. A little more reserved.

Overall I am a night owl so being up is no great thing. I will sleep in and tomorrow will enjoy another southern tradition of red beans and dirty rice. A New Orleans dish that I dearly love and not connected to New Years but just my choice of food to eat while watching the Bowl Game played in New Orleans tomorrow.
Oh yes there will be some hot crusty French bread to go along with that. Followed by a tummy ache and regret.

Heather good to see you. Hope you find some games tomorrow.

Doing something I almost never do..
Being angry at my husband.

He worked a full day yesterday..
And is doing the same today.

My Dr explained to us.. just a couple of days ago..
That I don't need to be doing ANYHTING at all
For my bones to BREAK.
That... some of what I didn't follow up on a while back..
And current stuff..
Could indicate an aggressive cancer
( that's NOT a cancer DX..
She just wants me to follow up. )

Point is..
COPD
Severe osteoporosis
Auttoimmune disorder
Cardio problems

And..more than anything..
Just Goddamn tired.

What's it going to take for him to put down work for a minute?
BTW.. he's the boss.

..I'ts a pretty safe bet I won't be around for retirement.

Seek a good ole southern redneck party. Jack Daniels whiskey straight up or added to your choice of lemonade or iced tea. Some pretty lil gals in short cut raggedy blue jean shorts and a tee shirt cut to expose the midriff. Fill in the blanks bud. Just watch out for the daddy with the shotgun. Imagine at least 75% of homes in the south own a gun and for some odd reason it is tradition to fire them at midnight. Some jump the gun and fire early. Pun intended. They may pass out, wake up and fire them again at midnight. The only casualties are the starlings who roost in the trees. They are startled, they are blind in darkness and fly into buildings and other obstacles. One year it was literally raining dead starlings. So very sad. People found them on there cars and on the ground and all sorts of places.

So wish all this cold that is moving through would come to you. Just give you a break. If there were a magic genie in a bottle I would send him to you.

Hero sure do wish we could share a cup in real life. I sure do get the noise thing and anxiety is at all time high for me when pain levels go up. Is that it for you? The pain levels. I am ADHD and OCD and have never been successful at quieting myself.

Somehow I picture you as someone who can meditate. A peaceful soul.

My new year was quiet. Spent time at home having a quiet few drinks with my hubby and watching our new favorite show :)
Trying to focus myself on enjoying the amazingly beautiful and embarrassingly hot weather that will hopefully continue for a while.
Oh, oh, oh! I'm moving in 3 weeks! My Mum tried and failed to sell her house but is still moving... So we are going to be renting her lovely place for the foreseeable future :D So excited.
Okay, that's my little rant for now. Cannot reiterate how much I love you all.
