last year or so.when the whole Obamacrap was being debated, the Oregon Health Plan was held up, in Washington as a model for the federal plan.
most of you know how i was hijacked off a legitamate ins. co. that was helpin me...onto OHP.
well.......after my first fiasco they did pay for one visit to my pain specialist and my medsa.
i go, like most of you i spose, once a month.
i went yesterday.
today.................meds denied.
so i called them.......got a four station runaround then finaslly was asked what my diagnoses was for which i was getting these meds.
i told em. it's all the "inosis" anfd alopathies and alll the other crap which is fancy dr. speak for basically a disintegrating spine with pressure on the nerves and spinal cord.plus fibromyalgia
"unfortunately" i was told ..those diagnosis fall under the heading of chronic paIN.
I AGREED WITH THAT....EXCEPT NI SWITCHED INTRACTABLE FOR CHRONIC SINCE I'M SUCH A FUCKIN STICKLER FOR PROPER LANGUGE USE.
I ASKED WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS........."WELL, UNFORTUNATELY......THE OREGON HEALTH PLAN WILL NOT COVER ANY CHRONIC PAIN TREATMENT...........INCLUDING EVER SEEING MY PAIN DOC AGAIN. OOPS..........SHOUTIN HERE........FUCKIT.
I ASKED WHY THAT WAS AND WAS TOLD THEY DON'T FEEL THAT CHRONIC PAIN IS LIFE THREATENING.
I TOLD THEM THAT I CAN NO LONGER SLEEP SINCE THE INJECTIONS WERE DENIED AND NOW ANY QUALITY OF LIFE IS BEING DENIED ME. PLUS I WAS HILACKED ONTO THIS INS. IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOW THERE IS NO OTHER CVHOICE FOR ME BECAUSER SOCALLED "HIGHRISK" INS. COMPMIES...IE: ONES THAT WILL TAKE YOU ON WITH PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS.............WILL CEASE TO EXIST AFTER DEC. 2013.
I TOLD THEM IT SURE ENUFF IS LIFER THREATENING. MY SPINE IS DIINBTEGRATING AND IF i can't have treatment for pain it sure enuff is life threatening. i told them they themselves were killin me.
she said she would send me "the handbook"............the one that says i'm screwed.
here is the worst part............although everything i said was absolutely true................Eli was in the next room and heard it all.
i've been exp-laining to him now how God loves us too much to let me die and that one way or another i will find a way to keep seeeing my dr. andf getting my treatments.
he's ok now.
my brother is a lawyer in Wa. state. i'm going to call him and check my options.he knows lots of lawyers.
this was mostly rant but i want to reiterate my headsup to you guys......get in writing some gauruntee of service from your own ins. co. or something. i gave those folks a big rant about their promisedPROMISED....."continuation of service" that i have had fucking none of. "unfortunately ohp doesn't see it that way"
as i was remembering Pelosi, Feinstien and that crowd claimin OHP as a model for the federal system...i wanted everyone "at risk" to know just how the fucking model works.
do what you think best but get with your primary, your pain specialists and your ins. companies now if you want to avoid this kind of surprise. like i said.i was NOT uninsured. i was doin fine and was hijacked........they even admit that......oops, sorry. but now, there is nothing to be done.

You suggested we all get it in writing but unfortunately we all know policy's can be rewritten at anytime....no guarantees, no promises.
What we need is someone in Washington who will fight for our rights! Someone that will hold all these asshole companies accountable for their actions.
Unfortunately that won't help you right now.....anything I can do my dearest friend! Just remember that I care! And I've got your back! I won't rewrite our friendship, you can count on me!

From the beginning I was against the national healthcare plan. I read a lot and know there are so many limitations. When I should have had my hip replaced after trauma accident and didn't it was most likely
because our insurance deemed the procedure a one year wait to see if the pinning worked or not.
In our state there are 5 procedures that doctors are graded on. If they go over the allotted treatments for those procedures they are fined. If they are under they receive a bonus. This started January 2013. What it boils down to is the government federal and state will not let our doctors treat their patients as they see fit. The doctors hand's are tied.
In regards to my hip the surgeon could have made the decision at anytime to relieve me of my pain and do the replacement. He just chose to go by the guidelines of my insurance. If I were on Medicare only that procedure would have to go to a board of government people to be approved.
Now in my state they are fining the hospitals if a patient has to return to the hospital within 20 days after they have been released. This is supposedly because hospitals release patients too soon. That is BS. What doctor or hospital is going to readmit a patient and be fined. In my eyes it means sick people will have to wait it out when they need to be hospitalized.
The government doesn't know healthcare. The doctors are frustrated and limited as are the hospitals.

There has got to be a way. Doctors not administrator's should be able to make the decisions for their patients.
