LESBIANS OVER 50 Community Group
I've created this group to promote a safe space and an opportunity for older lesbians to dialogue about and share their special issues, needs, concerns, or whatever they wish to share with the other members. Women only (please!) from all ages are welcome.
Well...the efforts to meet friends on the dating website were a real fiasco !!! Wow...lots of ladies out there but so many have serious problems. I don't mean to sound like I've got it all together but I'm at least aware that some thought processes are not quite right and am willing to work on it. One gal that I chatted on the phone with a couple of times and exchanged a few emails with, practically tried to "take me hostage" to use an old recovery slogan. Lol. and she had never even met me face-to-face !!
Guess I've been out of circulation too long and perhaps have come too far on my own journey to get caught up in a lot of drama anymore. You could just feel the vibe that there was plenty of desperation hanging in the air. Sure, I'm alone but certainly not lonely. Yup...it would be nice to have a partner but don't want to feel like I have to be joined at the hip all the time or account for my whereabouts every minute of the day. That's ownership not partnership!!
Back to the drawing board. Still have the LGBT Seniors Club, The Lesbian Book Club and the Coming Out-Being Out Group at the community centre.
Hope that newcomers to this board will also check out some relevant support boards like Coming Out or Relationship Challenges etc.

Visiting with family could be nice if you were able to accompany your GF or perhaps the granddaughter could come visit at your house ??
My family lives across the country and I'm not "out" to them. So, I have some measure of privacy here as well.
My family are also neglected and yet, they have been supportive and deserve better (no guilt, just fact). So, I am cutting out a lot of "busy-ness" that has not been satisfying and am concentrating more on the things that nourish me physically, mentally & spiritually. Just turning a page.....
