LDN Not Working For Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Hello. After many years of chronic pain that only gets worse and worse, I finally have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last month. My doctor of course tried to put me on the toxic drugs right away. I refused and decided to give LDN a try first after learning about it while searching for "safe RA treatments".
Since my doctors wouldn't even consider the LDN, I've been on my own since they basically dropped me as a patient. After an extensive search, I finally found an online doctor who was willing to prescribe me LDN. I began on 1.5mg about 5 weeks ago, and worked my way up to 3mg about 2 weeks ago.
While I do feel a tiny bit less lethargic, the LDN isn't helping with my pain at all. I'm beginning to lose hope. Can anyone please share their experience in how long LDN took to start working? Should I up my dose to 4.5mg or wait? I've read where it can take some time for LDN to work, especially for RA sufferers, but nothing definitive.
My concern with upping the dosage to 4.5mg is that even if it does start working in that higher dose, it seems I will have nowhere to go from there because from what I've read LDN (like any drug), will eventually require a higher and higher dose after the body becomes conditioned.
Anyway... and insight would be great. I'd ask my doctor, but again... they won't help since I didn't go the route of the toxic drugs like Methotrexate. I figure I'd at least try a drug that helps regulate my immune system before a lifelong commitment to a drug that suppresses my immune system. Thank you.
