I know I can create, yet there were obstacles I encountered as a child that also gave birth in me to feelings of despair that even though it was possible, *I* couldn't do it! Abraham does suggest to start small, but there are a couple of issues that never get resolved for me even though I do. These are my weight and supportive, nurturing friendships. In terms of the latter, I usually have one person in my life I depend on, but it never grows. In terms of my weight, I lose maybe one pound but never all of it. I don't overeat, either!! I have tried not using a scale AND allowing myself to eat whatever I want -- and gained 20 lbs trying not to care!
P.S. I also tried loving my body fat -- I am actually almost at that point now, but not when I dress for a party or look at myself naked. Am I doomed to be fat? Do I have to simply accept myself this way and know I cannot look like other women who are slender?
It might not work for you but it worked for me. I used to weigh myself every week and of course if i hadnt lost weight that week, i would feel down and eat! What worked for me was weighing myself every month, even if i only lost a pound in that month, i felt more positive and so i would carry on, little steps, doesnt matter how long it takes! Progress is the same whether its over a week or month :)
have u found any work outs that u enjoy?
i myself love the elliptical machine!
i want to get in the best shape of my life too, and i feel like i have along ways to go. yes, i know so many people say that i dont look fat, but what they cant see underneath wont hurt them. i have man boobs and it sucks so much to live with this excess fat! I HATE IT!!!!
I have felt so many emotions boy i tell ya. skinny people dont understand what it feels like. i know. i recently found this itouch application which was free called: lose it! theres also a site too, but they have it linked right now to only ipod touches and iphones. but it is so cool! for me i need to keep going on all the detailed successes in order to gain more momentum. and to also stay way, way far away from the tv news. negative world information makes me gain weight. so i avoid it at all cost, and i fill my mind with all positive information! if i lost 70 pounds i cant tell u how much my life would progress! IT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE!!!! www.loseit.com
p.s. i seriously do not have a social life or cannot date because of my man boobs! it dictates my whole life!
i have barely had 1 gf and im about to turn 29. most of my friends are married with kids.
not that im comparing myself to them, i guess im just trying to make a point i guess.
so besides the law of attraction and how it has changed my life forever in a good way, my weight and the calories i burn on a daily basis at the gym IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!
also do your best to surround yourself with friends and family who also is trying to be healthy too. omg that will help so much!!
Ok..ty...so what you might have to do is to believe that " man boobs " are one of theeee most beautiful things in the world .....yep...I am thinking about it and yes....I SEE it more now...yep, man boobs are looking pretty pretty.
Think pretty tyler...ok..handsome...but look how pretty you are in that picture of yourself.
I deeply admire how openly and honestly you shared with us in your comments on this topic.
Not only do you have gorgeous man boobs, but you have a very, very attractive " self. "
For oopsie, how about doing nothing ?
How about not trying to loose 20 lbs or one lb ?
How about not trying to love yourself in a larger and for you, a less desirable state..for now ?
When one of the thoughts you mentioned comes up, perhaps you might consider visualizing yourself on the top of a hill with a great wind blowing towards you.
Take one of those thoughts of " trying to..." or of not liking your body when you look in the mirror and visualize them as long, thin pieces of silk.
Hold them with your outstretched arms.
Do you see them blowing and flapping in the breeze ?
Can you feel the lovely pressure of the wind blowing into and holding you ?
Can you smell that fresh air scent that drenches fabric on a windy day ?
If you can, you just may be smiling...
Now let go of those pieces of cleansed silk....watch them rush away from you until you can not see them anymore.
Do you think that at this point you might consider blending with the wind and becoming one.
Drift, billow, swirl and dance.............move freely and dance.................sublime.
Just a thought.
If the link pastes correctly, here is some lovely dancing with the wind music.
I think it is important for one to feel comfortable in their own skin. Big or smaller. At the end of the day what matters the most is what you do about your current weight. One does not have to rush nor be hardl on themselves because then that will cause frustations if the results do not show immediately. What matters the most is that you do something about it, start an exercise routine, eat healthy. It will also be encouraging to put being healthy on top of the list , let your eating habits be driven by the reason of being healthy, put loosing weght at the back of your mind. What will happen is you will eat healthy, exercise and at the end of the day loose weight at the same time.
Tyler i too struggle with weight issues i havew always either been slightly overweight but now very much so although after my daughter was born i finially got very thin and stayed that way for several years and i found out that that is an entirely different world....it's almost surprising how differently i was treated when thin.....its kinda sad isint it?
Hi, I'm new to the group, but I'm not new to the Law of Attraction. The Law is expecially fickle when it comes to weight, I have found, but sucess has to do with shifting your focus. Your intention can't be "I want to lose weight"...why do you want to lose weight? Then once you identify that, you have a better focus, for instance, "I want to be able to run around with my kids."
Then you accept the reality, "I weight X amount of pounds right now and even though I'm unhappy about it, I accept responsibility for it." And because accept that you put yourself in this position, you can accept responsibility for getting out of it.
Then you need to take action. When I wanted to become healthier, I dumped all the stuff in my kitchen that I knew was bad for me. I stopped adding condiments and salt to my food and started adding spice instead, I only drank water and coffee. I bought a treadmill and planted it right in front of the TV...I couldn't see the TV properly from the couch, but I could if I was jogging on the treadmill :)
I wasn't worried about a number. Losing weight isn't about number. Losing weight is about gaining immune benefits, mobility benefits, energy benefits, etc. I never stepped on the scale.
In terms of the Law of Attraction, it was a combination of visualization and expectation. I visualized what I would be doing as a healthier person. I imagined the clothes I would wear and the things I would do...but I visualized them as if it was going to happen today. (Visualizing things happening in the future just pushs the results farther into the future.) I also expected to lose weight and feel better. I expected that my intention would manifest..
Right now, I eat a very healthy diet, I'm moderately mobile and I take care of myself. But I don't expect that will lose of gain weight. I have been in that mindset for about 5 years now...and I have been the exact same weight for the past five years.
When you allow doubt into your intention, you automatically sabatoge yourself. Everytime I hear doubt rearing it's pertrid little head, I restate my intention out loud with as much confidence I can muster. I keep saying it until doubt shuts the heck up.
