Apparently, a turkey.  When gathered at nephew's in  laws we were peering out the big front windows which overlook a pond.  The pond is on the end of an Amish family home and farm . 

 I asked the kids , "What does it take for the chicken to cross the road?"  as I saw him walking on and across the road.

Sheri quickly chimes in, "That's a rooster"  I knew that but that IS a male chicken after all. 

Others looking out the other edge of the window say, "UM, a TURKEY" since there was also a funky turkey (probably what spared him the chopping block) and another rooster coming across the driveway. 

We never did learn if he thought he smelled Uncle Fred cooking or if he just wanted to stretch his legs because one of the Amish boys saw us watching them and he came and chased them back into their yard.
