I banish darkness from your house for hours, yet add a letter and I illuminate the whole sky for only a second. What am I?


What goes around the world and yet stays in a corner?


People are hired to get rid of me, I'm often  hiding under your bed. In time I'll always return you see, bite me and you're surely dead. What am I?


You can have me but cannot hold me; gain me and quickly lose me. If treated with care I can be great, and if betrayed I will break. What am I?


Whoever makes it, tells it not. Whoever takes it, knows it not. Whoever knows it, wants it not. What is it?

I think the one under the bed is dust and maybe trust for the ' you can have but you can not hold me ' etc.

Counterfeit Money? I remember this movie as I read the riddle about 3 prep students making counterfeit $20 bills. Got in some big trouble with the mob. I can't think of the movie name.

Lighting/ lightning is correct! Well done, JazzyLady. Cedarbrooke's meter, meteor is no less clever in my opinion. These were tough riddles - I had to look up all the answers except for the first and easiest one : )
