Hi. I have two nephews aged 2 and 5 that are placed in emergency foster care right now. My husband and I have been discussing with cps the possibility of taking them into our home. A little history. The 5 yr old and his sister were placed with us several years ago under kinship care for a few months while their parents were following the cps rules and taking classes. After they were placed back with their parents it went downhill again. I had thought I was helping a family stay together and doing the right thing. My mindset is different this time. I have strong expectations that they will not get them back this time. I would like to know what happened with others in a similar situation and how it affected their lives long term. Thanks.
