Having to quit my job, surgery in near future...
stpaulmom
I've finally made the decision to quit my job and concentrate on either getting better through some natrualisitc "cure" or surgery. I have been through all of the approved meds and even unapproved meds and nothing has worked so far. I am a hairstylist with 28 years of clients who have become friends and some like family. I'm so down, depressed, confused...I don't know how I will be as a person without this part of my life. Just need to vent, thanks for listening.

hi it's marg401. right before mysurgery i went through the same frustration and anxiety. my family was super supportive but remember you are the one going through this nightmare. in total i spent 32 days in the hospital and did a lot of thinking. i had to give up my anger and accept that this was god's will for me. being honest with you it didn't overnight. but eventually it does happen. wpuld love to hear from you again . god bless.

Thanks Marg, I know that Gods will is what will happen, and I need to accept that. I just wish He would help me decide what to do from here. I think I've moved from anger to sadness at this point. And then the anxiety, I need to keep my faith, but I feel like it's really being challenged right now. Thanks for the support. And god bless you back!

it's really realy hard to accept what's happening to us when i used to think to myself what in the world did i do to deserve this. then a wise doctor in the hospital told me now that your colon is gone if your anger and anxiety level doesn't lessen, where the heck will the anger go next. i have mvp of theheart and i certainly don't need any heart problems. believe me after 18 months i haven't fully accepted my lot but my girlfriend who is a pa told me god removed my colon because i was such a good candidate for colon cancer. believe me that was the turning point of my anger with god. i just gave in and let me handle all my fears and frustrations. it's not easy. i would be lying to you if i said it was,. it's only recently that i focus on the fact i have 2 parents that love me, a husband who took care of me and a daughter. have faith and god bless. write soon. marg

If it helps, try to think of how good you will feel on the other side if you do decide to go with surgery. Yes the process is rough and so is the recovery, but once you make it through you feel renewed and you will know that it was meant to happen that way. When I first got out of the house after I finally felt good again, I realized just how beautiful the world was. I know it sounds cheesy but we forget to appreciate the little things sometimes and going through something like this really helps you to put things into perspective. Good luck! I hope you find the right path for yourself soon!
