A group where people can discuss Jehovah Witnesses or Christianity. I want to discuss the choice and the problems one can expect when couples are unevenly yoked.
You know, I thought about not telling the brothers and sisters about my situation, but then I thought I would be reproved for not telling the truth about my husband not sharing my beliefs and how we are dealing with things in a way that shows respect for all involved. I have been going on another site related to JW's, trying to find support, but I will no longer be going there, as it seems to be full of apostates. All they want to do is tell me how I will never fully be accepted as a JW because of my situation, how my family will die because they do not share my beliefs, how I am wrong because I am not training my husband's children in Jehovah's ways, how I should put Jehovah above all else. Well, first of all, I know I have a different situation than most, and some may never understand it. I am not training the children in Jehovah's ways because they are my step-children, and my husband has told me his wishes regarding his children. And I know that I should be courageous and make a stand and not celebrate holidays and do only what I know is right...but then I will purposely alienate my family....my husband, the girls, Grandma, my mom-in-law, and persons in my family as well. Why should I alienate them??? In reality, the brothers don't need to know my business at home any more than my family needs to be exposed to something that they are opposed to and will only create discord. Why can't I worship as I choose? The only person I have to answer to is my husband...along with Jehovah. My husband said he will not oppose my study. And I know that Jehovah knows my heart and my situation....
Jehovah is still calling me regardless of what others say.
Thanks for reading, sorry for the rant.

I don't know the answer to this, except to say, keep studying, keep praying, keep reading your bible.I think it will all work out somehow, Jehovah's holy spirit will lead you.Dishonesty is never right. But not talking until you are ready is OK.
I'm not sure why I just told the truth. I guess it is because I wanted to be upfront...and if I am not going to be accepted, then I know right away and won't risk being disfellowshipped later on down the line. Also, I am kind of tired of telling people what they want to hear, JW's or not. I have even taken a new approach with my mother-in-law. I walked on eggshells for the longest time...now I just say how I feel. I watch my tone and am respectful, but I am tired of always feeling like I have to do what she wants, when she wants, how she wants...especially if I don't agree.
I am continuing to read in the "Bible Teach" book. I am on chapter 9. I am going through and reading the whole thing first, then I will go back and look up the scriptures and consider the questions. I read as often as I can, especially when the kids are in school and before bed.
Oh that is the one we need to study together then, How would you like to have a study useing that book? We can answer the questions together, and look up the verses together.I just have to find a way that we can hear each other on here, or it won't be too easy or work very good.Yes I think it is good that you thought about how you shouldn't hide anything to avoid disfellowshipping. We should never be ashamed of the truth with family, it is all a balanceing act.I struggle with knowing what to say a lot.I am gonna go hunt see if I can find my Bible teach book !
