mich2, I have the same story. Twice used unproven (new) donors and now picked a proven donor for this cycle.....so I would love to hear the feedback. I second that.....Babydust for us all:)

baby dust to you both. i used unproven who worked, but i know that wasnt the question. just wanted to say hi and good luck to two of my favorite people on here.

I used a proven donor. She had donated twice before each time yielding a healthy pregnancy. I am 12 weeks pregnant with twins on the first try with her donation. I agree every donor has to be unproven until they can be proven, but she is batting 100% with her donations or maybe more if you count the twins as more than one ;)

We used a proven donor who had success x 2, we were debating between one donor who was new and then the proven donor, my hubby wanted someone who had success before.

My first donor was not a proven donor and I had really bad luck. On paper, she was exactly what I was looking for but sadly it turned out she had fertility problems herself. They did not realize this until the retrieval. For my next cycle, we decided to go with a proven donor just because we were a bit scared to have a repeat performance. Good luck to you!

It seems like everyone who has used a proven donor has had success which makes me feel so much better (after my last horrendous cycle with an unproven donor, I'm now using a proven donor) but I'm still nervous so if anyone else has positive stories about proven donors...or even ones with negative results, I'd love to hear from you :-)

Our first donor was not a proven "donor" but had a child of her own. We got pregnant with our fresh & FET cycles, but lost both of those. Everyone assumed that our losses were due to the donor, since nothing could be found "wrong" with me or my DH. When we were picking out our next donor we decided to try only a proven donor. Once again, pregnant on the 1st fresh cycle & lost it again. We had 3 frozen embies...our last chance...so we decided to try a different med regimen...it obviously wasn't the donors....I am now 17 1/2 wks pg!!! Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. While I appreciate hearing about the unprovens who were successful, the question is...did everyone who used a proven donor have a successful outcome? Is it possible for a proven donor to go thru a cycle and not produce a pg/live birth? Thanks so much :-)

Yes, they label them "proven" after they've been chosen and produced eggs/not ALWAYS a pregnancy! at least thats what my clinic said and the agency we used...but they can tell you whatever they want anyway...the donors are anonymous/noway to prove it.... Don't know if thats your question?! Hows the pregnancy going!!???

Wow, didn't know some clinics labeled donors who produced eggs as "proven". Mine doesn't. They need to produce a pg to be considered "proven". Then, you can ask the nurse to look at the files to see if the pg resulted in a live birth. And I was just curious as to whether a proven donor ever did a cycle where she didn't produce a pg (which is what my clinic considers proven).
I'm feeling okay..get tired if I do too much..very unlike me :-) Have another U/S with RE this week and then I'm seeing my own ob/gyn the week after, just to get his opinion if I still do have 2 sacs.
BTW, a friend of mine (our DE sons are 3 wks apart) is having a C-section for her 2nd on the same exact day as you..May 9th. Wonderful Mother's Day gifts for both of you!!! How are you feeling?
