I'm in the process of doing a DE cycle, I've completed the paper work and my donor has already met my RE. I had to go thru a donor agency, the fees in total for the agency is pretty pricey, $16,000 (only for the agency) I put this amount on one credit card. Now I need to pay $6,000 that goes to the donor. Here is my issue, I'm getting really nervous that I may not be able to live life due to my credit card payments. I also have other credit card debt and other bills :-( I currently have $6,000 In my savings account but that would close my account. I'm scared I won't have any extra cash for emergencies. If i cancel my cycle I get most of the 16,000 except for a few fees that are not waived. I really want to make this possible but I'm so worried financially. I know you guys can't tell me what to do but I'm hoping I can get some feedback from your perspective view! Please help.......

I forgot to mention, my health insurance pays for most of my ivf coverage, that's a plus :-)

I used Fertility Finance for a loan. We had to pay alot more than that and our payments were set on a 4 yr payment plan.

I'm in a pretty similar financial dilemma except I have zero IF coverage through my insurance. I financed my donor cycle through ARC and then took a withdrawl from my 401K so that I can pay the loan off as soon as the check is cut. I didn't want to pull the money from savings, because I don't feel comfortable taking all the money from savings (which was already depleted from my last 2 years of TTC). At the end of the day, I figure having a child is more important to me the having a fat bank account.

You can also check out Springstone which is a medical financing company. We used the Attain program but financed through Springstone. They offered 100% financing to us. We didn't need that much, but were glad they had reasonable repayment plans to choose from. We elected to use a 3 year plan, then pay extra each month to pay it off quicker. There are ways!

These fees are ONLY for donor agency fees :-(. When I was first in contact with agency, they never offered or informed me of any financial options, I guess that's my fault for not doing my homework. So I decided to use my little savings I have :-(
