At Day 3 we had the following:
two 8 cell Grade 1,
two 8 cell grade 2,
one 7 cell grade 1,
one 7 cell grade 2,
one 6 cell grade 1,
one 6 cell grade 3,
one 5 cell grade 1,
two 5 cell grade 2,
one 4 cell grade 2.
This just goes to show that you will get a significant portion of non-viable eggs even from a young donor, which I did not really expect. Those slow growers probably arrested although I did not get a more detailed report on their outcome, just that they were not viable and thus discarded by Day 6.
At Day 6, we had four A5 BB blasts, which the nurse advised was good. I thought we would have more and of at least AB or AA quality but we are still grateful because it's more than we ever achieved with my own eggs. They do a vitreous protocol at our clinic and she advised most likely we will not lose any upon warming and that they would likely all remain the same grade even if a few cells died in each blast.
We plan on freezing all of them for a FET in November. At this point in time, we do not wish to risk any of the embryos and will only be transferring one at a time. It will be more expensive if the first ones don't stick but we are afraid to lose both if we transfer 2 because if we get a BFP with twins and one miscarries there is then a risk for both to miscarry. The risk is small but it's such a big investment. This stuff is such a rollercoaster. Please wish us luck!
