A little back story as to why I'd like to donate... July 2012 I was 20 years old and 23 weeks pregnant and went to the emergency room because of extremely high blood pressure. At that time we found out that our daughter, Aubree no longer had a heart beat. I had undiagnosed pre-eclampsia. I chose to deliver her naturally and she was perfect. The reason she passed was because my blood pressure was so high it cut off blood supply to her.
Fast forward to this year. My fiance and I were desperately trying to get pregnant again. Month after month I was getting a negative pregnancy test, and being told that I may not be able to carry a successful pregnancy because of how fast and severe, and how early I developed the pre-E. My Dr. has been in OB for 30+ years and he's only had 5 patients develop it as early as my ( I started showing symptoms of it at 15 weeks) and I was the only one whose pre-E resulted in a still birth.
FINALLY after 8 months of trying we got pregnant. I went every day being terrified that the same thing would happen. Thankfully, I delivered a healthy baby girl this past November.
I recently went back to work as a nurse extern. A RN that I work with has been trying for years to get pregnant with no luck. She is the person that made me the nurse that I am, and I highly respect her. She was talking to me about possibly trying egg donation, and asked me if I'd be willing to donate to her. She also said that I should think about donating the unused eggs to other needy couples. I just wanted some insight into it. I understand what it involves as far as the injections and process, but I want to know the other side of it.
It's not about the money. It's because I was a terrified 20 year old wondering if I'd ever be able to carry a child. And having to look into other options if I couldn't. But I wonder if I can even qualify to be a donor because of my loss.
I'd love any advice!

I think you are being so wonderful and selfless in considering donation. I don't think the fact you had a loss due to pre-E would prevent you from donating (after all you wouldn't be the carrier). They would want to check your FSH levels and get your health background. it sounds like you'd be a great egg donor.
I, for one, can tell you that I think of my donor very often and think of how selfless she was and what a wonderful gift she gave to me and DH! I am very grateful to her (although she is anonymous, I keep her in my prayers and positive thoughts on a very regular basis).
